REMARKS:

  • Climbers below 16 years old are considered as CHILD and compulsory to have a private mountain guide (Maximum shared by 2 children / Guide). Mountain Guide Fee – MYR 350/Guide.
  • Transportation arrangement is based on the number of person in your group.
  • Outskirt Hotels Pick-Up and Drop Off Surcharge: There are additional charges for hotel pick up outside the city: MYR 30 per person for pick up from Beringgis Beach Resort, Langkah Syabas Beach Resort, Rasa Ria Resort, Karambunai Area, Kinarut Area, etc.
  • Transportation Overtime Charges:
    Transportation Overtime Charges [MYR 80 per transport/way] will be applied for: Pick up from airport/hotel in Kota Kinabalu city to Kinabalu Park/Poring Hot Spring after 6 pm on the climbing date (Day 1) AND transfer depart from Kinabalu Park HQ to Kota Kinabalu city after 7 pm on the descend day due to climbers late arrival. Any transfer after 10 pm to/from Kinabalu Park or Poring Hot Spring consider as midnight transfer, [MYR 120 per transport/way] will be applied.

  • The last transport returning to Kota Kinabalu city will depart no later than 6.30pm from Kinabalu Park. In the event that you miss the last transport (or prefer to depart at your preferred time), we can arrange a private transfer for RM 300 per transport per way, subject to availability. Please be aware that any costs arising from an unscheduled private transfer will be borne by you.
  • All rate are quoted in Ringgit Malaysia & Nett (No hidden cost unless otherwise stated)
  • All passports and visas must be valid at least 06 months from the date of entry into the country destination

BOOKING TERMS:

  • Once your climbing slots are being confirmed, a copy of MYKAD or PASSPORT must be submitted within the same day and full payment must be made in order to secure the slots.
  • Reservation will be canceled without notice if there is no payment made within the stipulated time.
  • No refund will be made for any cancellation AND replacement of names/change of date is not permitted for budget packages.

About Drinking Water / Hot Water
UV filtered drinking water available at Laban Rata restaurant area. Mineral water available for purchase at the grocery counter – MYR 7 for 500ml / MYR 14 for 1.5 liters. Coffee & Tea will only be provided during Breakfast Hour and Supper. The cost for one mug of hot water at the restaurant is RM1.5, but there is water dispenser at your hostel where you can get FOC hot water. (Price subject to change without prior notice).

No Heated Shower/Room Heater
Panalaban Hostel’s power supply comes from generator and thus, the available generated electricity is very limited, hot shower and room heater are both not available.

Friendly Note for Vegan/Vegetarian Climbers: If you’re a vegan/vegetarian climber, we strongly recommend you to pack some snacks, protein shake, nuts, chips, nutrition bars or anything you like with you as the food provide might not able to fulfill individual diet/nutrition needs. Most of the meals are served in simple buffet style, we would suggest for you to pick on dishes that cater to your needs.

  1. This is a very basic hostel-style accommodation where you have to sleep alongside with other climbers in a big room.
  2. Charging outlets available inside the room but you have to share with other climbers.
  3. Not recommended to bring valuable items with you.
  4. The safekeeping of your personal belongings is at your own responsibility.
  5. Original passport or identity card is required for verification during the registration process.
  6. Extra luggage/belonging that you don’t wish to bring with you for mountain climbing can be kept at Sutera Sanctuary Lodges reception office (RM12/luggage).
  7. You may hire a porter to carry your backpack at Park HQ. (Climbers are responsible for own backpack rain protection). Payments will be made directly to the porter by cash.
  8. Make sure your passport has at least 6 months to run from your time of entry into Malaysia.
  9. After commencement of tour service there will be no refund in part or full will be made for unused service/activity.
  10. We will not be held liable for any delay, additional expenses of inconvenience which may be caused by directly or indirectly by events outside of the company control, such as late arrival of domestic or international flights, civil disturbances, fire, floods, unusually severe weather, act of God, act of Government, or the failure of any machinery or equipment.
  11. In the unlikely event such as bad weather conditions, the local authority (Sabah Park) withholds the rights to cancel the summit climb, no refund in part or full will be given.
  12. We cannot be held responsible, or in any liable, for any injury, property losses, accident, or damage incurred for any reason whatsoever, whether through activity booked through us or caused to you by third parties, during your stay or during participation in any activity.
  13. Strongly recommend that all guests take up adequate personal travel insurance before the trip commences.
  14. Guests must advise any disability requiring special attention or dietary request at the time the reservation is made. We will do our best to accommodate the special needs request, but is not responsible in the event it is unable to do so nor responsible for any denial of services by, hotels, restaurants, or other independent suppliers.
  15. All guests will be required to read and sign an Indemnity Form before the tour commence.

ITINERARY

Kota Kinabalu > Kinabalu Park > Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel

Pick up from your hotel at Kota Kinabalu at 6.00am (shared transportation). Take approximately 2 hours drive to Kinabalu Park Headquarter for registration of your Mount Kinabalu Budget Package. [Passports (International)/Original Identification Card (Malaysian) are required for verification during registration].

After registration, collect your individual packed lunch and meet your mountain guide [Wear your Climbing Tag at all times]. Unneeded luggage can be stored at Sutera Sanctuary Lodge’s reception counter at MYR 12 per luggage at own expenses. You may engage porter at Kinabalu Park. Porter fees are paid directly to the porter at MYR 14.00/kg (Timpohon Gate > Laban Rata > Timpohon Gate). Transfer to Timpohon Gate together with your mountain guide. Start your adventure of 6KM trekking to Panalaban.

Overnight at Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel (unisex shared room with basic facilities). Dinner start serving from 4.30pm to 7pm, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Enjoy your day!

Panalaban / Lemaing Hostel > Low’s Peak > Kinabalu Park HQ > Kota Kinabalu

Wake up at 1.30am and gear up. Supper start serving from 2am to 3.30am, at Laban Rata Restaurant. Start your journey towards the Summit of Low’s Peak @ 4095.2m with your assigned Mountain Guide. Cut-off time for Sayat-Sayat Check Point is 5.30am (Climbers who arrive at Sayat- Sayat Check Point after 5.30am will not allowed to proceed with the summit climb). Experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mount Kinabalu. Take beautiful photos at the summit plateau before descending to Laban Rata for a well earned breakfast. Check out and trek down to Timpohon Gate.

Take the Park’s shuttle transfer – KOKTAS, from Timpohon Gate to Kinabalu Park’s Headquarter. After that, enjoy your late lunch at Panataran Restaurant.

CONGRATULATIONS! You can now collect your Certificate of Achievement from our team. Transfer back to your hotel at Kota Kinabalu, takes approximately 2 hours. Please take note that this is a shared transportation arrangement, climbers have to wait for the whole group to complete the climb before going back to the city.

How much is the cost?

Porter service is fully optional depends on individual. Due to number of porters are reducing, your mountain guide might also act as your porter (depends on the availability of porter during the actual day).

  • Porters will measure the weight of backpacks in front of climbers.
  • Payments will be made directly to the porter by cash, minimum weight is 10 Kgs.
  • Porters will not trek along with you, so keep all the necessities that you need with you.
  • Things can get wet on the mountain, so pack your belongings in big plastic bag/use a backpack rain cover to protect your climbing gear.

Panalaban Hostel for Mount Kinabalu Budget Package is two newly built hostel located near to Laban Rata Resthouse. It take only a few minutes walk from the restaurant. Panalaban Hostel consists of two blocks, named Mokodou & Kinotoki, each block can accommodate up to 25 climbers. Every bed comes with mattress, a blanket and a pillow. This is hostel-style accommodation where you have to sleep alongside with other climbers in a big room and share common bathroom. There is water dispenser at Panalaban Hostel where you can refill your water bottle. Only a few charging outlets available inside the hostel room, so you will have to take turns with others.
