CHILD RATE:

1) Child rate applied to child aged 3 – 11 years old.

2) Aged 12 years old and above considered as adults, and adult rate will be applied.

3) Child aged 0 – 2 years old and share room with parent without using extra bed stay free of charge (FOC).

REMARKS:

1) Tour is based on Seat-in Coach Basis and subject to weather conditions.

2) Lodges will be assigned on run-of-house basis.

3) Federal Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia has imposed a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) effective from September 2017. Foreign tourists are required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of the hotel star level. The tax will be collected from every check-in guest directly at the resort which is not included in the package.

Sightings of animals are not guaranteed as they depend upon several factors such as moonlight, weather, temperature, and a good dose of luck!

It is recommended to bring along your leech socks.

Do not get close to or try to contact with any wildlife animals. Keep a safe distance with them.

LAHAD DATU > DANUM VALLEY FIELD CENTRE

From Lahad Datu, take two hours drive on gravel road to Danum Valley Field Centre. Upon arrival, register at the Reception & Information Building and check in to your room.

After lunch, go for a nature walk and explore the spectacular Danum Valley Conservation Area. Take your time to observe the stunning views of the forest, keep your eyes open for monkeys and colorful tropical birds. Return to the centre and freshen up. Dinner will be served at 7.15pm.

After dinner, go on for a guided night walk in search of sleeping birds, frog and nocturnal wildlife. 4×4 night safari drive available at own cost. Overnight at Danum Valley Field Centre.

DANUM VALLEY FIELD CENTRE

As the breeze of crisp morning air tickles your skin, wake up to the calls of gibbon and chirping birds. Go for an early morning trek before return to the centre for breakfast. Explore the surrounding area or free at own leisure.

Lunch will be served at dining hall. After lunch, heading off for another trek, passing streams along the way with the chance of wildlife sightings. Return to the centre in late afternoon and freshen up.

After dinner (subject to weather conditions), geared with your headlamp or torchlight, taking uncertain steps into the dark jungle trail to look for interesting insects, frogs, sleeping birds, and nocturnal wildlife that may turn up after dark. Enter a world inhabited by the shy night creatures before the day end. 4×4 night safari drive available at own cost. Overnight at Danum Valley Field Centre.

DANUM VALLEY FIELD CENTRE > LAHAD DATU

Rise early for more wildlife sighting. Return to the centre for breakfast and check out. Depart for a 2.5 hours journey back to Lahad Datu.

ABOUT DANUM VALLEY

DANUM VALLEY CONSERVATION AREA

Located deep in an untouched tropical forest, the Danum Valley Conservation Area is a thriving paradise of diverse tropical vegetation and wildlife. Danum Valley situated about 80km west of Lahad Datu, considered as one of the world’s most complex ecosystem and classified at Class 1 (Protection) Forest Reserve in Sabah Borneo. The enchanted forest serves as a natural home for the unimaginable number of plants and wildlife species such as Banteng, Clouded Leopard, Orang Utan, Slow Loris, Proboscis Monkey including the endangered Bornean Pygmy Elephant.

Danum’s canopy walkway with its viewing platform offers views from 27 meters above the forest floor. Is it possible to see the nests made of twigs and leaves by Orang Utans for sleeping at night, to catch sight of a “flying lizard” or hear the unmistakable cry of the Great Argus pheasant. Besides, Danum Valley also one of the richest conservation area in the world as it has over 200 species of trees per hectare! Visits to this unique Borneo jungle must be arranged in advance in order to obtain the necessary permit.

Danum Valley Field Centre

Danum  Valley Field Centre (DVFC) is a leading and influential tropical rainforest research establishment in Southeast Asia and one of the top tropical biodiversity research centre in the world. Although DVFC is run principally for use by scientists and researchers, but the facilities are now extended for visitors who looking for a basic stay while exploring Danum Valley.

The accommodation in Danum Valley Field Centre is available in two chalets, two rest houses blocks with 11 units of twin bedded private room and two 48-bed hostel blocks. Beside visitor accommodation, the centre also offer a wide range of facilities such as multi purpose hall, conference room, basketball court, volleyball and football field and marked trails. Apart from that, an ancient burial site, Tembaling Waterfall, Segama Beach and observation tower are all located within the DVFC area as well.

There are lots of outdoor activities that you can do at Danum Valley Field Centre like guided forest trekking, bird watching, night drives, guided night walks, sunrise/sunset watch, tree platform climbing and trips to INFAPRO!
