Learn and meet the protected inhabitants of these sancturies while appreciating the conservation work done to save them.

After lunch, continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. You can now get close to the worlds smallest bear in its natural forest environment. There were information boards with facts about the bears hanging at the walkways at the centre. Besides, there is a binocular at the viewing platform for you to see the bear in close distance.

The 347m canopy walkway provides a spectacular view of the lush rainforest of Sepilok from 25m above the ground. Walk among tall rainforest trees and observe life high up in the canopy, look out for epiphytes, birds, squirrels and if you are lucky, you might saw wild Orang Utan! Pay a visit to Plant Discovery Garden before transfer back to respective hotel/airport.

Tour Details

About Sepilok Rehabilitation Centre

The Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre was set up in year 1964. Sprawls over 4,294 hectare of virgin jungle reserves rich in tropical rainforest and mangrove swamp, this sanctuary serves to rehabilitate orang utans that have been abandoned by their mothers, or were formerly in captivity. These orphaned orang utans, found from logging sites, plantations and illegal hunting, were rehabilitated until fit enough to be returned to the wild. Sepilok Orang Utan Rehab Centre gives you an opportunity to watch the orang utan – “Man of The Forest”, up close in their natural habitat. Besides, you can witness the feeding process of the orang utan by the rangers at feeding platform!

About Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre

The Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre (BSBCC) is the home of the world’s smallest bear. BSBCC play an important role in rescue sun bears and promote their conservation to return them to the forest. At here, the rescued sun bears are able to express their natural behaviors in the forest enclosure. Once they have adapted to the forest, they may released to the wild. Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre gives you an opportunity to watch the smallest, most arboreal and least studied bear, up close in their natural habitat.

About Rainforest Discovery Centre

The Rainforest Discovery Centre is an environmental education facilities run by Sabah Forestry Department, primarily to create public awareness and appreciation of the importance of conserving forests, as well as the sustainable use of forest resources. There is a Plant Discovery Centre and a conopy walkway which bring you to a bird observation tower at RDC. Here, you can discover the rain forest from the treetops (along a 347 m-long Canopy Walkway) above the ground! Bird lover might able to spot hornbills, pittas, kingfishers and the rare Bornean Bristlehead from the canopy walk.
