Child Rate:
1) Child rate is applicable when child aged 5 – 11 years old travelling with TWO (2) paying adults.

3) Federal Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia has imposed a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) effective from September 2017. Foreign tourists are required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of hotel star level. The tax will be collected from every check in guest directly at the resort which is not included in the package.

Package prices are inclusive of land and boat transfer on the check-in and check-out day only. Additional fee will be charged for unscheduled transfers which is not include in the package.

Pick up from your hotel and transfer to Yacht Club Jetty.
12:00 pm
Board on boat for the journey to Abai, Kinabatangan. On the 1.5 hours cruise, Berhala Island, the prominent sandstone cliffs of World War II historical site, can be photographed from the boat. The boat journey continues towards the mangroves and villages of Abai. This cruise also offers the views of the different types of vegetation found along Sabah’s mighty Kinabatangan River. Photo opportunities shall vary from the usage of telephoto lenses for wildlife such as Macaques, wild Orang utan, Proboscis monkeys and the unique mudskippers, to wide-angle lens for landscape shots of Nipah palms, stilts of Rhizophora trees and mangrove forest.

Upon arrival at the Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort, check-in. Lunch while your skipper conducts a briefing on the upcoming activities and advice you on recommended gears to prepare.

Afternoon refreshment of coffee, tea and local Banana Fritter ‘goreng pisang’ shall be served.

Set off for the afternoon river expedition in search of wildlife. This time in a smaller open-topped river boat, in search of wild Orang Utans, Pygmy elephants, Proboscis monkeys and other wildlife.
7:00 pm
Heading back to the resort. At the meantime, admire the stunning river landscape as the sun sets. Dinner will be served at resort’s restaurant.

After dinner, take a walk along the boardwalks with your headlamps or torch and look for nocturnal wildlife.

Overnight at Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort.
6:00 am
Early morning cruise to observe more wildlife and birdlife. Cruise to the nearby ox-bow lake, Danau Pitas, to explore the area. Enjoy your light packed breakfast while admiring the natural surroundings.

Continue on to visit the local fishing village, Kampung Abai. Interact with local Orang sungai from river people and observe the daily activities in this tiny fishing village.

Return to the KWR Resort for breakfast. The day shall be spent river cruising in the early morning, late afternoon and a night river safari after dinner.
4:30 – 7:00 pm
Hop on a boat and cruise along Kinabatangan river in search of wildlife and birdlife along the river the mangrove. Return to resort for dinner. Free at own leisure.

Go for night safari cruise where you might spot nocturnal animals and birds. Overnight at Kinabatangan Wetland Resort.

After breakfast Check-out and return to Sandakan by boat. The 1.5 hours cruise shall pass fishing villages along the coast. Also a good chance to photograph Sandakan town from the seafront. Sandakan was also known as ‘Little Hong Kong’ in the olden days and drop off at Sandakan Yacht Club Jetty and onward transfer to your respective hotel/ airport
Kinabatangan Wetland Resort – surrounded by a secondary forest reserve. It is located within nipah and mangrove vegetation and is safe from flood round the year. Access into the resort is by wooden walkways made from local hardwood called “Belian”. Currently, the resort boasts 4 twin share rooms at its’ Longhouse Cabin which caters for traveler’s on a budget and requiring basic facilities.
In addition to this, KWR has 10 spaciously designed Deluxe chalets for guests wanting more privacy, exclusivity and more facilities. All rooms are equipped with fan, private bathroom with hot & cold shower, shampoo, soap and toilet papers. Swimming pool (coming soon), 40” LED TV with selected Astro Channels (Deluxe chalets only), and Free Wifi internet access within restaurant area, Laundry service is available at a fee. The resort has its’ own 24 hours security personnel. 24 hours electricity is supplied by solar panels and a generator. River water is supplied to the resort and undergo water treatment and sand filtered before use. We also practice collecting rainwater for supplement.
