Transportation Overtime Charges
Transportation Overtime Charges [MYR 80 per transport/way] will be applied for: Pick up from airport/hotel in Kota Kinabalu city to Kinabalu Park/Poring Hot Spring after 6 pm on the climbing date (Day 1) AND transfer depart from Kinabalu Park HQ to Kota Kinabalu city after 7 pm on the descend day due to climbers late arrival. Any transfer after 10 pm to/from Kinabalu Park or Poring Hot Spring consider as midnight transfer, [MYR 120 per transport/way] will be applied.
About Drinking Water / Hot Water
UV filtered drinking water available at Laban Rata restaurant area. Mineral water available for purchase at the grocery counter – MYR 7 for 500ml / MYR 14 for 1.5 liters. Coffee & Tea will only be provided during Breakfast Hour and Supper. The cost for one mug of hot water at the restaurant is RM1.5, but there is also FOC hot water available at the building nearby. (Price subject to change without prior notice).
Lunch at Liwagu Restaurant, Kinabalu Park
Please be informed that Balsam Café is currently under renovation, all meals will be served at Liwagu Restaurant.
Scheduled Power Supply & No Heated Shower/Room Heater
The power supply in Laban Rata comes from a generator set and thus, the available generated electricity is very limited. As a result, there are scheduled power supply (available from 5pm-8pm & 1am to 3.30am daily). Hot shower and room heater is not available.
HP Charging
Charging outlet is not available inside the room, but charging points can be found at Laban Rata Resthouse’s reception counter. It would be much more convenient to carry a power bank with you.

Friendly Note for Vegan/Vegetarian Climbers: If you’re a vegan/vegetarian climber, we strongly recommend you to pack some snacks, protein shake, nuts, chips, nutrition bars or anything you like with you as the food provide might not able to fulfill individual diet/nutrition needs. Most of the meals are served in simple buffet style, we would suggest for you to pick on dishes that cater to your needs.

ITINERARY
Pick up from your hotel at 6am and start your 2 nights laban rata climbing adventure. Take approximately 2 hours drive to Kinabalu Park HQ for registration [Passports (International)/Original Identification Card (Malaysian) are required for verification during registration]. After registration, collect your individual packed lunch and meet your mountain guide, a short briefing will be given. [Wear your Climbing Tag at all time]. Unneeded luggage can be store at Sutera Sanctuary Lodge’s reception counter at MYR 15 per luggage and hire a porter at your own expenses.
Transfer to Timpohon Gate and start your adventure journey ( 2 nights laban rata package ) – 6 km trekking to Panalaban! Enjoy the scenery view along the trail. Check in to your mountain hut (unisex shared dormitory) at Laban Rata Rest House. Dinner starts serving at 4.30pm until 7pm, at Laban Rata Restaurant.
Ascent: Ranau Trail
Wake up at 1.30am and gear up. After supper, start your hike towards the Summit of Low’s Peak @ 4095.2 m. Reach Sayat – Sayat Check Point before 5.30am. Continue your journey and experience the glorious sunrise over the majestic Mt. Kinabalu.
Return to Laban Rata Resthouse for breakfast. Have a well-deserved rest or just enjoy watching the therapeutic mountain scenery from Laban Rata restaurant’s balcony. Lunch will be served here as well. Free at own leisure.
After dinner, overnight at Laban Rata Resthouse (unisex shared dormitory).
[Climbers who arrive at Sayat-Sayat Check Point after 5.30am will not be allowed to proceed summit climb].
If you failed to summit during the first attempt, you may try again or simply relax at the rest house.
Check out and trek down to Timpohon Gate. Take the Park’s shuttle transfer – KOKTAS, from Timpohon Gate to Kinabalu Park’s Headquarter. Enjoy your late lunch (start serving from 12 pm to 4.30 pm) at Liwagu Restaurant. Lunch will be converted to packed lunch for climbers who arrived late at the park.
CONGRATULATIONS! You can now collect your Certificate of Achievement from our team. Transfer back to your hotel at Kota Kinabalu, takes approximately 2 hours. Eng of 2 nights laban rata package.

MT. KINABALU TRAIL MAP
ACCOMMODATION
Laban Rata Resthouse (3272 meters above sea level) is the biggest mountain hut among the others, and also where the restaurant and grocery shop located at. Here is the final pitstop before ascending to the summit of Low’s Peak, providing climbers with comfortable lodgings and hot meals. There are four types of room available here, which is Private Room 1, Private Room 2, Private Room 3, and non-heated unisex dormitory rooms. Laban Rata’s private rooms are all equipped with en-suite bathroom, but NO heated shower, and room heater due to scheduled and limited power supply. Non-Heated Dormitory bunk bedrooms come with common bathrooms and toilets, without any heated shower or room heater. Pillows and blankets are provided.
