VIA FERRATA INFO
This leisurely 2-3 hour Walk The Torq route is a shorter commitment than that of the Low’s Peak Circuit. Peppered with frequent opportunities to take pictures and enjoy the scenery, Walk The Torq is adrenaline pumping enough to offer a little taste of the Via Ferrata experience without having to expend too much energy.

As we all know, safety is paramount in any outdoor sport and this is no exception. In order to have the best experience without compromising on safety standards, below is the recommended shoes to wear for Via Ferrata activity.
Via Ferrata participants are recommended to wear shoes that are like or similar to the following shoes:

No climbers are not allowed to participate in the Via Ferrata activity with the following shoes as indicated below:

ITINERARY
Complimentary Day Tour
Pick up at 0800hrs from your hotel lobby in Kota Kinabalu city or airport. Take approximately 1hour 30minutes drive to Pekan Nabalu, which located at 73KM away from KK town, where you can get various local products, fruits, home grown vegetables and handicraft souvenirs. Continue your journey to Kinabalu Park for pre-climb registration. [Passports/Original Identification are required for verification during registration]. Do expect some short waiting time, as there might be a long queue for registration. After registration, proceed to place of interest like Poring Hot Spring (for Hot Sulphur Spring Bath and Tree Top Canopy Walk), Desa Cattle Dairy Farm (fresh milk and yummy ice-cream) etc. Lunch at own expenses. Check in Kinabalu Pine Resort/similar.
** Complimentary day tour on Day 1 applied to tours start at 8am. Any tour commenced after 8am due to late arrival will results in missing some visiting spots, subject to actual day’s schedule**
Ascent Timpohon Trail

Pick up from Kinabalu Pine Resort/similar and transfer to Kinabalu Park.

Arrive at Kinabalu Park HQ, meet your mountain guide and collect your pack lunch. Transfer to Timpohon Starting Point & start hiking.

Arrive at Pendant Hut @ 3,289m and settle in

Attend the mandatory via ferrata safety briefing in Pendant Hut and meet your Mountain Torq Trainer (Compulsory – There will be NO repeat briefing and NO Via Ferrata on the next day should you miss the mandatory briefing)

Cut-off time for via ferrata safety briefing.

Meet your via ferrata trainer at Sayat Sayat Hut @ 3,668m for your Walk the Torq via ferrata experience (introductory via ferrata, French grade PD). All climbers must arrive at the Via Ferrata starting point before 7.15am, climber who miss the cut-off time will not be allowed on the Via Ferrata.

ACCOMMODATION
Kinabalu Pine Resort is a multi-award winning resort located at Kundasang area, approximately 15 minutes drive from Kinabalu Park. This is one of the most beautiful resort in the area. Their wooden cabins are fully built using the exclusive Selangan Batu hardwood. All rooms come with en-suite bathroom with hot water shower, toiletries & hair dryer, free WiFi, LED TV with satellite channels, intercom, complimentary bottled water & coffee/tea making facilities.
Apart from that, all cabins have wide open porches facing Mount Kinabalu!
Pendant Hut (3289 meters above sea level) located at approximately 6km from Timphon Gate, around 10 minutes short walk from Laban Rata Resthouse. This cozy and eco-friendly Alpine-inspired hut is exclusively for Via Ferrata’s climber. Mandatory pre-activity briefings will be held here every day. Pendant Hut houses guests in a dormitory-style setting or private room for 4, both are non-heated rooms that share common bathroom. Unlike other mountain huts, Pendant Hut is the only hut equipped with pillows and sleeping bags, instead of blankets. Here you can enjoy your post-midnight supper and American breakfasts, relax at the comfortable lounge area, pick up a climbing book at our mini alpine library or have fun playing board games. The highest post box certified by Malaysia Book of Records is located at Pendant Hut too!
