REMARKS:
1) Federal Tourism and Culture Ministry of Malaysia has imposed a Malaysian Tourism Tax (TTX) effective from September 2017. Foreign tourists are required to pay a flat rate of MYR 10 per room per night regardless of hotel star level. The tax will be collected from every check in guest directly at the resort which is not included in the package.

This tours starts at Sandakan and ends at Sandakan. Tour begin at 10.45 am on Day 1, you can either arrive in Sandakan one day earlier or take the earliest flight from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan.
This is a fully guided tour but you may be having different guides for different segment of the tour.
There is no porter at Selingan Island, you have to carry your own luggage from the boat to your chalet.
After commencement of tour service there will be no refund in part or full, will be made for unused service/activity.
Sightings of wildlife animals are not guaranteed.
Tour activities are subject to weather conditions, and may be re-organized to best meet operational situations.
Actual tour activities timing guide may vary depending on the condition of the actual day (For example, weather and traffic condition etc)

ITINERARY
Our guide will pick you up from your hotel lobby or Sandakan Airport at 9:00 am. At 10:00 am, your 2D1N Selingan Turtle Island Trip begin. It will take approximately one hour boat ride from the jetty to turtle Island, which lies 40km north of Sandakan in the Sulu Sea off Sabah’s east coast. Selingan Turtle Island is the main nesting area for Green Turtles and Hawksbill Turtles. Upon arrival, check in to your basic accommodation and have lunch. Lunch will be served at the cafeteria from 12.30pm to 2pm.
After you’re done with lunch, you can do any activities you want throughout the whole evening. Go roam on the beach, sunbathing, swim, or have some fun snorkeling (at own cost). Also, you might just be able to get a great sunset view if you’re lucky! The Parks Exhibition Hall is open for visit at 6.30pm. Watch an interesting video presentation before heading for dinner. Dinner will be served at the cafeteria at 7.30pm. The turtle program will start anytime after the dinner. After dinner, be prepare, park ranger will alert you if there are turtles come ashore to lay their eggs.
As soon as the announcement from the Park’s Ranger regarding the sighting of mother turtle coming ashore to lay eggs is made, all visitor will then follow Park’s Ranger to the nesting side slowly. Here, you’ll be able to witness mother turtle laying her eggs. All eggs will be collected by Park’s Ranger and plant at the hatchery. The last program of the night is to watch the baby turtles being released to the sea for the first time if there is any baby turtle hatching on the night. You can take part in this amazing process too! Overnight at Selingan Turtle Island Chalet.
Breakfast and check out. At 0700 hrs, take an hour boat ride return to Sandakan. After that, you will be transfer to Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, which situated in the Kabili-Sepilok Forest Reserve – a mixed dipterocarp forest offers a natural home to the orangutans. Here, young orphaned or captive Orangutans are taught the skills they need to survive in their natural habitat before they can return to the wild.
Upon arrival, proceed to the Nature Education Centre, a mini-theatre where a documentary video about the rehabilitation efforts of Sepilok Orangutan Sanctuary is shown. Onward, make your way through the forest to the viewing platform. Witness the feeding session and observe the habitat of “wild man of the forest” in a close distance. Learn and meet the protected inhabitants of these sanctuaries while appreciating the conservation work done to save them. Besides, there is also a nursery site where you can observe some of the adolescent Orangutans swing on the ropes and tree branches, in order to develop their climbing and foraging skills.
After lunch, continue to Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. You can now get close to the worlds smallest bear in its natural forest environment. There were information boards with facts about the bears hanging at the walkways at the centre. Besides, there is a binocular at the viewing platform for you to see the bear in close distance.
After that, visit to Rainforest Discovery Centre which developed by Sabah Forestry Department to give an insight into the wonders of the rainforest. The 347m canopy walkway provides a spectacular view of the lush rainforest of Sepilok from 25m above the ground. Walk among tall rainforest trees and observe life high up in the canopy, look out for epiphytes, birds, squirrels and if you are lucky, you might saw wild Orang Utan! Explore Plant Discovery Garden before check in to your resort. Overnight at Sepilok Nature Resort.
Wake up in tropical rainforest in Sepilok. After breakfast, free at own leisure. Check out and depart to Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary, which located in the center of Semawang’s mangrove forest. Upon arrival, take about 10-15 minutes of wooden plank walk through the forest to the viewing platform. Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkey Sanctuary offers a perfect observation platform for you to have a closer look at Borneo’s indigenous proboscis monkeys. The remarkable males sport big dangling noses, reddish flat-top hairstyles, white tails and markings, and pot bellies. The females, on the other hand, are much smaller and have up-turned noses.
Silver Leaf Monkeys are free to roam around the viewing platform too and some of them will come close to you! Observing the Proboscis Monkeys both young and adult leaping from tree to tree, being so close to them and watching them in their natural habitat in a close distance will definitely give you the most exhilarating and unforgettable experience. Lunch will be served at Labuk Bay’s restaurant.
After lunch, proceed to Kinabatangan River. The journey will take approximately 2 hours drive and passing through rustic countryside. Upon arrival at the resort, you will be greeted by the resort’s crew and refreshment will be served followed by briefing featuring the overview of the resort routes & safety. Check in to your room.
At 1600 hrs, embark on the adventure of your life to spot the elusive Proboscis Monkey, Orang Utan, Silver-Leaf Monkeys, Macaques, Crocodile, birds, and many more. Enjoy cruising along the mighty Kinabatangan River and be mesmerized by a myriad of wildlife along the riverbank.
You might even sight the world smallest elephant – Borneo Pygmy Elephant in search of food at the riverbank during certain seasons. Apart from that, all the eight species of hornbill found in Borneo make this river their home too! When the sun goes down, its time for dinner.
After dinner (subject to weather conditions), geared with your headlamp or torchlight, taking uncertain steps into the dark jungle trail to look for interesting insects, frogs, sleeping birds, and nocturnal wildlife that may turn up after dark. Enter a world inhabited by the shy night creatures before the day end. Overnight at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.
Wake-up to the calls of gibbons and forest birds. Cruise along Kinabatangan River to search for birds and wildlife. After your morning exploration, return to the lodge, freshen up and enjoy your breakfast. Then, en-route one hour jungle trekking within the resort area. Return to the resort for lunch. Free at own leisure.
Late afternoon, set off for another river adventure. Cruise along Sabah’s longest river to experience one of the most important and distinct habitats in Borneo’s rainforest before returning to the resort for dinner. After dinner (subject to weather conditions), geared with your headlamp or torchlight. The forest takes on a totally different character at night. Animals, insects, and reptiles who hide from predators during day time eventually come out at night in search of food. Overnight at Borneo Natural Sukau Bilit Resort.
Wake up and relish in an early morning cruise to look for more wildlife along small tributaries. After breakfast, check out and depart to Gomantong Cave, which located in the heartland of the Gomantong Forest Reserve, is the home of millions bats and swiftlets. Upon arrival, follow by 10 minutes walk to the cave and explore the largest birds nest cave in Sabah.
Be prepare for a long hour driving journey to Deramakot. Deramakot Forest Reserve is the first tropical rainforest in the world to be certified as well-managed forest in Sabah, Borneo. It took approximately 2 hours 20 minutes drive from Gomantong Cave to Telupid town. Have lunch in a local restaurant and continue drive to Deramakot on 4WD. Along the way, pass through four security gates, oil palm plantations, some logging areas, and secondary forest before you can finally arrive at the forest reserve.
After an overall 4-5 hours drive on a paved road and gravel road, you are now entering into a truly isolated and wild forest reserve in Borneo. Upon arrival, check-in your accommodation and have some rest. Dinner will be served at dining hall. After that, followed by a night safari to look out for nocturnal wildlife and birds with our guide on 4WD. After approximately two hours (depending on weather and road condition) of ‘spotlighting’ and searching for wildlife, return to the lodge. Overnight at Deramakot Forest Reserve.
Early morning wake up call at 0500 hours. Onwards, depart for a pre-dawn four-wheel-drive (4WD) safari. There are many endemic wildlife that can be found here in Deramakot Forest Reserve. After that, return to the lodge for breakfast. After breakfast, you can go on a jungle walk (optional) or simply spend your day relax in the middle of the jungle in Borneo. Many bird species can be spotted from your Deramakot accommodation. Lunch and free at own leisure.
Depart for a dusk wildlife safari in the evening. Return to the lodge at 1800hrs for your dinner. After dinner, continue with another night safari in search of more nocturnal wildlife. Overnight at Deramakot Forest Reserve.
Wake up and go for an early morning walk. This is the last chance to look for the many wild animals that live in the Borneo rainforest. Return to the lodge and have breakfast. After breakfast, check out, drive back to Sandakan.
Arrive in Sandakan. Overnight at Livingston Hotel Sandakan. Free at own leisure.
Free at own leisure. Livingston Hotel located not far from Kim Fung Local Market, which is the best spot for cheap eats and food stalls. Or, you can walk around the area where people defined it as “Little Hong Kong” in the olden day.
